Our Mission
The GBMC Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Study Club was founded in 2008 with the intent to bring together Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons, other dental specialists, and interested generalists in a forum where wide-ranging current, pertinent issues would be presented and discussed. As dental practitioners, we have found that there is great value in group educational experiences that afford us the opportunity to network with and learn from our colleagues.

From the outset the Study Club has called upon leaders and members of the academic and practicing community to offer updates and advances in care delivery. Renowned experts from Johns Hopkins, University of Maryland, and The Greater Baltimore Medical Center, as well as leaders beyond the greater Baltimore area, offer their experience and expertise over a comprehensive scope of topics including emerging technologies, innovative techniques, and novel products.
Our Organization
Our study club is composed predominantly of experienced OMFS clinicians, periodontists, oral medicine and pathology specialists, and generalists, including experienced community practitioners as well as residents and recently trained specialists.

Meetings are generally free-flowing and collegial with free exchange of ideas and clinical experiences. Topics presented are up to date and practical in their approach with applicability to office and institutional surgical operating venues. Speakers are regionally, nationally, or internationally known in their area of expertise and a discussion follows every presentation. We understand the value of networking and strive to foster an atmosphere of education and partnership.

The GBMC OMFS Study Club is always seeking new members who want to expand their knowledge and join a fantastic group of dedicated dental professionals. Use our Contact page to find out how to become a member today!
